The short films realised in the framework of the Sarajevo – City of Film project are now available to view on

One of the most important film events in Europe, the Sarajevo Film Festival organizes the Sarajevo – City of Film project every year. Sarajevo – City of Film is a project that, in its 6th year, continues to discover and promote authors of the young regional film scene. The participants in selected projects face numerous challenges: three filming days per film, same equipment and budget on their disposal, a foreign crew and a relatively foreign city. The films that have been realized premiere in the popular open-air cinema of the city in front of an audience of over 3,000. The winning film, selected by a professional jury, receives a prize of 2,000 euros. Even Angelina Jolie watched the Sarajevo City of Film shorts last year when she was guest of the Sarajevo Film Festival., an online platform for short films, is part of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s professional programme every year. Daazo now offers a channel with the short films made in and before 2012 in the framework of the Sarajevo – City of Film project. The Sarajevo – City of Film channel comprises 19 short films, among which we can watch a moving family drama (Alena’s Journey), a grotesque Pygmalion paraphrase (Edina), the lyrical story of a long-lost lesbian love (Pink River) as well as a bizarrely bittersweet film about teenagers and the constant desire for sugar (Something Sweet) to name but a few.

The Sarajevo 2013  issue of World of Shorts magazine, read by over 40,000 users to date, offers further interesting reading on the subject of the Sarajevo – City of Film project and the Sarajevo Film Festival.
