Films from International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will be presented at the biggest African art fair, at the FNB JoburgArtFair.

Founded in 2008, the FNB JoburgArtFair is the leading and oldest art fair on the African continent. From 11 to 13 September, galleries, artists, collectors, journalists and lovers of African art from Africa, but also from places like London or Paris, will meet in Johannesburg in South Africa. The focus of this year’s event will be on experimental film and live performance.

Following an invitation of the Goethe Institut Johannesburg and the JoBurgArtFair, the International Short Film Festival Oberhausen will present two programmes of films from recent years at the fair. Hilke Doering, head of the International Competition, will be in Johannesburg to introduce the films. The programme features a number of prize winners including Sans-titre (Neïl Beloufa, France 2011), winner of the Grand Prize of the City of Oberhausen in 2001, and La Estancia (Federico Adorno, Paraguay 2014), winner of the Grand Prize of the City of Oberhausen in 2014. An additional selection of films will be shown permanently at the Goethe Institute stand.
