The 9th edition of the BFI Future Film Festival is coming from the 17 – 21 February 2016. The deadline for the submission is coming soon, so don’t waste any more time if you’re an aspiring filmmaker between the ages of 16 and 25, send your short film!

They’ve ve expanded their 2 day festival to a full 5 days of practical workshops, masterclasses, screenings and Q+A’s, plus networking opportunities for young aspiring filmmakers aged 15-25. Last year more than 1000 young people were joined by industry experts, special guests and emerging talent to provide you with the skills and the know-how to take your creative aspirations and film industry careers to the next level.

Throughout the festival there will be different events and practical sessions for aspiring producers, writers, directors, production designers, and production and post-production technicians (cinematographers, sound specialists, editors, VFX artists etc)

The submissions are open until 18 October 2015!

The awards:

  • Best Short Film (15-18 years old) : Cash prize of £500
  • Best Short Film (19-25 years old) : Cash prize of £500
  • Best Director (15-25 years old) : Cash prize of £500
  • Best Producer (15-25 years old) : Cash prize of £500
  • Best Writer (15-25 years old) : Cash prize of £500
  • Best Micro Short (Under 90 seconds, 15-25 years old) : Cash prize of £250
  • Best Experimental Short (15-25 years old) : Cash prize of £250
  • Best International Short (15-25 years old) : Cash prize of £500 plus up to £500 towards travel and accommodation
