15 feature film project have been selected from 14 countries, for the Cinéfondation Atelier, that will celebreate its 12th edition, at the 69th Cannes Film Festival. The festival will be held between the 11-22nd of May, 2016. Here are the projects:

  • Iguana Tokyo by Kaan Müjdeci / Turkey
  • The Boarding School by Rezan Yeşilbaş / Turkey (who won a Short Film Palme d’Or in 2012)
  • La Cordillera by Santiago Mitre / Argentina
  • Tantas almas by Nicolás Rincón Gille / Colombia
  • Abou Aleila by Amin Sidi-Boumediène / Algeria
  • My Favourite Fabric by Gaya Jiji / Syria 
  • Death in Bed by David Volach / Israel
  • Daoud’s Winter by Koutaiba Al Janabi / Iraq
  • Memories and My Mother by Aditya Vikram Sengupta / India
  • The Whole-Timers by Bibhusan Basnet and Pooja Gurunget / Nepal
  • Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts by Mouly Surya / Indonesia
  • Femme fatale by Kyoko Miyake /Japan

The Atelier was established in 2005, to encourage creative cinema and help emerging the new generation of filmmakers. They get help with finding funds for their projects – from 171 accepted project, 126 have already been released in theatres, and 18 are currently in pre-production.
