The Cannes 2016 issue of the first feature and short film magazine World of Young Cinema is out now!
The English-language first feature and short film magazine writes about young cinema professionals and their activities. Emerging producers from the Producers on the Move programme share their thoughts on their works and hopes for the future, and meet the old and new media formats of filmmaking also.
As in earlier editions, one of the central aspects of the magazine is visual creativity. This is why this issue features the popular Mapping your Mind section where the filmmakers selected for the Cinéfondation programme tell about their films with drawings. In addition to this, the magazine features interviews with acclaimed Icelandic director Rúnar Rúnarsson, whose second feature film Sparrows is an award-winning coming-of-age story; last year’s Golden Palm winner Ely Dagher, whose animated short Waves 98’ depicts his teenagehood in Beirut; and one of the most exciting short film events right after Cannes is introduced: VIS – Vienna Independent Short Film festival.
The print issues of World of Young Cinema can be found at the venues of the Cannes short film screenings and in the Short Film Corner.
