ESSEN-ISTANBUL-PÉCS digital short filmmaking competition

Digital short filmmaking competition in the European Capitals of Culture. October 9 to 10, 2010

The aim of the festival organizers is to highlight the importance of cultural activity. The three European Capitals are going to start the game simultaneously. Competitors in the CinePécs II. FILMMARATHON are required to shoot and edit a maximum three minute long film within 24 hours. Three elements must be integrated in these films, but the organizers will only make it public at the start of the 24 hour competition (10:00AM. October 9, 2010) on the website: www.cinepecs.hu. These elements will be some ongoing cultural event or a local place of cultural interest. Teams and crews are all welcome but even one-man-crews may also enter the competition

RECORDING TECHNIQUE: Mobile Phone, Digital Camera, Still Picture Camera in Video Mode

UPLOAD MOVIES AND RULES:
The films must be uploaded within 24 hours completed with the three key elements announced at the start. This is clearly stated in the rules of the competition. The web link you obtain when uploading your video must be forwarded to the organizers.

THE JURY
PRESIDENT OF JURY:
Prof. Karl Bardosh Master Prof. Tisch School of the Arts – New York University The home office of the competition and the President of Jury will take place in Pécs, other members of the Jury will join through the Internet. The Jury will evaluate all films from the three cities together and will announce the results.

FlashFilm Fest

In the framework of Pécs2010 program and with the support of NKA, Film.hu Kft. launches a flash animation competition. Prize money will be awarded to the top ten competitors.

Topic of the competition

According to competition terms 10 selected creators/workshops will have the opportunity to make 10×1 minute long flash animation films. At the end of the almost one and a half month long process all animation films will be linked by competition organizers into one 10 minute long film entitled Pécsi Flash.

First round, there can be only ten.
Competitors may nominate their animation films made in the past five years. The best 10 creators/workshops will be selected by viewers and the jury. Competition parameters are defined at the official website, see here.

Second round
There is only one criterion: the opening and closing scene must be based on a venue photo and a 1 minute long music selection must be included, too. The music selection and the photo gallery of venue photos will be available on the safe website of the competition before the start of the second round.

The result of a total prize money of one million HUF competition, a ten minute long film entitled Pécsi Flash will be presented at the Hungaroflash Festival taking place from 17th to 19th October 2008.
